I can feel the Spirit filling up my soul
With each verse, like the last one
Makes me hungry for more
Of God's love and compassion
Pouring over me
But I'm burdened by chains
And I'm trying to break free

You lit a fire
A fire in my soul
When I hear Your name
It burns out of control

Why can't I?
Why can't I?
Why can't I dance for you?

Would someone please tell me
Where I've gone wrong
When each verse is a performance
And my stage is a song
'Cause I feel there's no meaning
In the words I hide behind
There's a beautiful new life
That I'm dying to find

You lit a fire
A fire in my soul
When I hear Your name
It burns out of control

Why can't I?
Why can't I?
Why can't I dance for you?

Why can't I dance
When Jesus calls me to dance for Him?
To lift up my heart as I lift up my hands
I can't move through the rhythm of Your heavenly beat
Or get on my knees at Jesus' feet ...
